CHILDREN

Promoting a positive musical experience is the priority with younger children. Those younger than 7 may have trouble with hand strength and ability to focus on written music. Here the lesson will consist of engaging the child in the keyboard itself to create sounds and act out stories. Basic knowledge of note names, reading and development of the hand will follow. Students from age 7-10 can begin to feel success by performing longer pieces and having a more formal practice regimen.
